The Employment Service notices a growing number of people learning this profession.

Employers have posted more than 300 nursing assistant vacancies every quarter in recent years, according to a press release from the Employment Service.

Their greatest demand is in the municipalities of Vilnius and Kaunas.

“This profession is usually chosen by those who already have personal experience in caring for their loved ones. Almost 30 percent of clients who benefited from support for nursing assistant training programs were aged 55 and over,” said Dalė Čičelienė, head of the Planning and Monitoring Department.

Many other people with health problems will also need the help of nursing assistants.

According to the “Future Professions” study by the Employment Service, the number of personal health care assistants (including nursing assistants) increased by 1.2 thousand in five years. or 15.5 percent

Despite five consecutive years of growth in the number of nursing assistants, their shortage remains due to the growing demand for nursing services in health care facilities and the private sector.
