The municipality is repairing one Vilnius bridge – MadeinVilnius.lt

For some time now, Vilnius residents have been noticing scaffolding and workers circling around the Žvėrynas bridge. Its repair began quietly, but this cannot but make the city residents happy – the bridge has finally been repaired.

Already in the summer, the Žvėrynos bridge will open to the citizens after being renovated. The bridge is more than a hundred years old, and was last repaired twenty years ago.

“Planned repairs are being carried out for the Zoo bridge: graffiti is cleaned, facade beams are repainted, stairs and other coverings are repaired. The works are planned to be completed in about 3 months”, says Gabrielius Grubinskas, Media Relations Specialist of the Vilnius City Municipality.

Capital repair of this bridge was carried out in 2005. after a one square meter hole opened up in the sidewalk. Then waterproofing was laid, the street surface was repaired, and lights were installed. Car or pedestrian traffic is not and will not be restricted on the Žvėrynas bridge.
