This year, the Minister of Health Protection, Arūnas Dulkys, awarded badges of honor testifying to such names to 26 doctors, 27 nurses and 22 health care workers in the country. Among them, two representatives are from Alytus.
The title of Meritorious Lithuanian Nurse was awarded to Virginija Vyturienei (photo on the left) from the primary health care center of the Alytus District Municipality, the title of Meritorious Lithuanian Health Protection Worker was awarded to Gražina Jusiena (photo on the right), head of the Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory of the S. Kudirka Hospital of Alytus County.
The names of meritorious Lithuanian doctors and healthcare workers have been awarded since 2004, and the names of meritorious Lithuanian nurses have been awarded since 2015.
Along with this year’s nominees, 374 doctors, 137 nurses and 420 health care workers were given the names of meritorious Lithuanian doctors.
As the Minister of Health A. Dulkys noted at this year’s awards ceremony, the country’s medical community is now united by almost 50,000 people. members. The minister wished them confidence in their profession, regardless of who and where they work.
