At the meeting dedicated to the opening of the season, which took place on the former territory of the Dvarčioni ceramics factory, it was possible to view the newest, extremely rare Honda Civic Type-R on our roads, this year’s Honda Civic Type-R, and the 1984 right-hand drive Toyota Corona, which was legally registered in Lithuania several decades ago.

It is symbolic that in 2024 the JapMeet meeting took place for the 24th time. According to the JDM LT team, the main idea of the meeting is to unite those who prefer Japanese manufacturers when thinking about a daily or recreational car. Meetings of the Japanese car fan community are truly diverse: enthusiasts driving products from Nissan, Toyota, Mazda, Subaru, Honda and many other brands stand side by side.

According to the organizers of the meeting, thanks to people’s awareness and some organizational changes, this season opener was particularly smooth, cozy and cultural, full of good emotions, a lot of colorful, more or less exclusive Japanese cars and their fans. The team is happy that both participants and visitors appreciate the organizational efforts and hard work more and more, and at the same time help to raise the level of car enthusiasts’ culture.

There was enough space for almost everyone at the JapMeet for the opening of the season: luxurious VIP-style and not only well-groomed Lexus, old-timers Honda Jazz and Toyota Corona, iconic Toyota Supra models brought by the Build_mp.up team, countless number of popular Subaru and Honda brand models, the impressive Nissan S14 ready for show and drift, the rare Nissan Stagea, Nissa Cefiro or PS13 models, the Mazda RX with rotary engines and many others.

The meeting was extremely rich in gifts for both participants and visitors, as the representatives of “Detailer Place” took care of many gifts for car maintenance, “Švaros broliai” delighted many with gift vouchers for visits to self-service car washes, which, due to their simplicity and ease of use, are probably favorites among true car enthusiasts. Berner, the long-time partners of the “Chill’n’Grill” festival organized by the JDM LT team, reminded us that summer is just around the corner and provided the necessary paraphernalia for relaxation.

Although it is aimed at fans of Japanese cars, but everyone likes it, the meeting attracted a large number of visitors who had the opportunity to visit not only the assembled Japanese cars, but also the Dvarčioniųi wellness trail and have lunch at the nearby “Jurgis ir Drakonas” restaurant.

The warm season has just opened, so the JDM LT team, together with JapMeet’s logistics partner Tokvila, promises various dates for residents of both Vilnius and other cities.

We thank our teammates photographer Andriis Laucius and Tomas Krisiulevičius for the wonderful photos.
