85 years old. Such a year of life would have been met on May 24 by Zenon Bulgakov, a photo artist well-known to many Alytus residents, often accompanied by a smile or a sincere word, and an honorary citizen of the city of Alytus. Alytus City Theater and Jurgis Kunčins Library invite you to events dedicated to the memory of Honorary Citizen Zenon Bulgakov, who would have celebrated his 85th anniversary this year.
Having shown loyalty to his city throughout his life and work, Zenon Bulgakov left an impressive dowry of his creative works. Although Zenon is better known and familiar to everyone as a professional photo artist, the people of Aly were always very attracted to the other side of the artist – the painterly side, which appeared in his life long before artistic photography. He painted until the last days of his life. As his wife Giedrė observes, if it were not for photography, Zenon would have been an excellent employee of memory institutions – both archive, museum and library, as he was very meticulous and pedantic by nature – a real “knock”.

Soon, the walls of even five buildings in Alytus will be painted in bright colors, and most importantly, the history of the buildings and city life will be meaningful. As many as five buildings have been selected, which will speak the language of our city, thanks to the “Namai suARTina” initiative, which is taking place for the second time. Z. Bulgakov’s memory will be immortalized on the wall of the house where the photographer lived – Vilties st. 4. May 25 6 p.m. will take place vernissage of wall painting works – a theatrical excursion dedicated to Z. Bulgakov’s jubilee. Vilniaus st. 5 – Vilties st. 4 – Šaltinė str. 2.

In a sensitive stay, the poles of Z. Bulgakov’s creative personality will be explored by the art critic dr. Margarita Janušonienė, photographer Zita Stankevičienė, old friends, close friends and everyone who wants to share their collegiate memories. Zenon Bulgakov’s photographs and paintings, specially selected from his extremely rich creative baggage, will be exhibited in all areas of the library.

The first roof-shattering event on the roof of the Alytus TEATRO begins a new cycle of unique events. Terrace TeaTRAS’ k – an intoxicating evening of music, poetry, cinema and tastes, where we will taste not only the music of professional jazz performers Tad and Agnes Pasaravičius, the lines read by actor Tomas Pukis, the exceptional tasting “Miella vyninė” wines produced in the Alytus region, and the delicious bruschetta specially created by the chefs, but also you will have a unique opportunity to purchase the works of Alytus, artist, photographer aa Zenon Bulgakov and his friends – Alytus artists – at the auction, thus contributing to the perpetuation of his memory. We will test our mental powers in the Kahoot game, and those who like to stay up longer will be treated to a night movie session.
Immerse yourself in the tasting and ATRAS’ k: feelings, tastes, sounds and smells of the evening, and most importantly – kindness and togetherness, which will take your breath away from the first minute and take you to the hustle and bustle of the night life on the cozy and roof-opening terrace.
