Will they tear down the reconstructed T. Narbutus street again? – MadeinVilnius.lt

It seems that curiosities in Vilnius will continue – the recently reconstructed part of T. Narbutos Street may be demolished again. The Vilnius City Municipality will consider project proposals, which review the construction and reconstruction project of water supply and surface sewage disposal networks. Grinda UAB would perform the works in the section of T. Narbutos street from Laisvės avenue to Ereliai and Stirnų streets in Žvēryne.

What works are planned to be done on this street?

The project envisages the installation of surface sewage disposal networks and water supply networks under existing street carriageways and under existing footpaths. True, the project does not indicate whether all works will be carried out in an open or closed manner. If they are carried out in the open, then the surface of T. Narbutos Street would be destroyed, in some cases across the width of all traffic lanes.

On T. Narbuto street from Laisvės avenue to Stirnų street, it is planned to reconstruct/build water supply and surface sewage disposal networks.

And reconstruct/build surface sewage disposal networks on Ereliai Street, Žvēryne, from Liepynos Street to T. Narbuto Street.

“T. Surface sewage disposal networks and water supply networks are being designed on Narbuto Street. It is planned to design new rain collection wells or to reconstruct existing ones with lateral or round rain collection grates. The existing rain collection wells will be dismantled and new ones will be installed, constructing them according to the established requirements. New or reconstructed existing surface sewage disposal networks are designed for the removal of surface sewage. Reconstruction works are planned at T. Narbuto st. and Stirnų st. at the intersection, on T. Narbuto street towards Ereliai st., also at T. Narbuto st. and Stirnų st. intersection (relocation of hydrant). It is planned to install new rain collection wells in the concrete channel at T. Narbuto Street. New surface disposal networks are being designed to connect them,” the project proposals state about the future works.

We can only shrug our shoulders, because the question arises as to why some of these works could not be carried out during the reconstruction of the street. If the works are carried out in an open manner during the installation or replacement of the pipeline, then the not yet reconstructed part of T. Narbuto street, but also reconstructed last year, will be demolished.

Let’s hope that all questions will be answered and rational decisions will be made during the consideration of the project proposals, because there is no money, and such inefficiency shortens the service life of the streets and causes considerable inconvenience to the citizens.

  • 2 work sites at Erelii/T. Crossroads of Narbut streets;
  • 2 work sites at Stirnų/T. Narbut intersection (at PLC “Panorama”);
• Installation of the water supply network:
  • Moving the hydrant at Stirnė/T. Narbut intersection (at PLC “Panorama”);
• Builder – Grinda UAB;
• Design proposals were prepared by ID Vilnius UAB – project manager Vaidotas Lukošiūnas.
