The capital’s children and youth will not be without activities during the summer – after the end of the school year, Vilnius residents will be able to take advantage of the employment programs offered by 236 camp organizers. After the end of the academic year, from June to August, it is planned to provide the opportunity to participate in summer camps for up to 16 thousand students. of children. “Children and young people have worked hard during the school year and really deserve a quality rest. We try to make camping possible for children whose parents have less opportunities or simply have more children. We allocated funding to original, inclusive, interesting and those camps where children spend more time in nature. We adults can only dream about it! Have a safe and fun summer for everyone!”, says Vilnius Vice Mayor Donalda Meiželytė.

Parents or guardians who want to get a place in the camp should apply to the institution organizing the camp or a freelance teacher. The maximum price of a one-day camp per child is 40 EUR. If the duration of the camp is longer than 4 hours. per day, catering services will be provided at the camp. The duration of the camp will be at least 4 hours. per day without breaks and not less than 5 days. Camps will be held throughout the summer from June to August. in different shifts.

Funding is allocated only to students studying in Vilnius, with priority given to those in a more sensitive social situation, children with special educational needs or children from Ukraine. Camps will be held in camps specially adapted for children’s summer employment, general education schools, non-formal education for children or other institutions, the premises and environment of which are adapted for such activities, in camp sites that are equipped for recreation with overnight stays, conditions will have to be created for tents, temporary or mobile homes to build, to meet hygiene needs, to make a campfire, to dispose of waste, etc.

This year, more than 801 thousand was allocated for children’s summer camps. EUR, in 2023 – 797 thousand. euros, and in 2022 – 630 thousand euros, and a total of 11,960 young Vilnius residents have already participated in the summer camps.
