The Kaunas Culture Fair is expanding: participants from all over Lithuania will be waiting

--

For the fourth year in a row, the Kaunas Culture Fair, organized by the Kaunas Artists’ House, invites cultural organizations, initiatives, communities, projects and other representatives of the cultural field from all over Lithuania to get to know each other and open the cultural season together. This year the fair will be held on September 6-7. on Independence Square.

“Like every year, the fair aims to acquaint the citizens of Kaunas and city guests with the cultural activities taking place in the city, the news of the autumn season, as well as to expand the audiences of cultural organizations and initiatives, and to activate the sales of cultural services and products. The news of 2024 is that we plan to invite 32 participants not only from Kaunas, but also from other Lithuanian cities to the Kaunas Culture Fair! The participants will be given the opportunity to participate in the fair, the stage program and portfolio reviews of artists who create in Kaunas,” – Viktorija Mašanauskaitė-Rinkšelė, the head of the Kaunas Culture Fair and the cultural partnerships coordinator of the Kaunas Artists’ House, commented on the event in more detail.

When the news of the season does not fit in the fair pavilion

Organizations and initiatives operating in the field of culture will have a unique opportunity to familiarize the public with their activities not only at the fair’s stands, but also on stage. Theater, dance, music and other performances, book or other content presentations, as well as various public-engaging workshops, games and other activities that do not fit in the pavilion are welcome here.

Before each performance, the performers or the participants of the fair presenting them will be able to introduce themselves in a short interview. The entire stage program will be broadcast live on Kaunas Artists’ House Internet Radio.

Changes: instead of the program of visits, getting to know the artists who create in Kaunas

The Kaunas Culture Fair is changing the format of the visit program that has been held for three years and this year invites you to view the portfolios of emerging artist(s) creating in Kaunas. This part of the event remains only for professionals in the field of culture. Its purpose is to introduce Lithuanian cultural organizations and initiatives to emerging artists from different fields, and to promote networking and cooperation.

“From this beginning, the Kaunas Artists’ House, in order to strengthen the field of art creators and workers in Kaunas, initiates the series of meetings between artists and cultural management professionals called “Datings”. We have already gathered a strong community of cultural organizations and we see the need to invite, support and present the artists and creators themselves. We hope that not only the useful knowledge passed on during the cycle of meetings, but also the portfolio reviews, intended for the presentation of one’s work, will strengthen the community of emerging artists in Kaunas, and will be useful for cultural organizations looking for content,” said V. Mašanauskaitė-Rinkšelė.

During the portfolio reviews, 20 selected emerging artists from different fields will present their work to cultural organizations and initiatives from all over Lithuania. One delivery will take 10-15 minutes. Participating organizations and initiatives will be able to watch one presentation at the same time.
