As forecaster Elvyra Latvėnaitė writes, the coming days may be quite restless and stormy.

“Lithuania will be heavily watered on Monday, thunderstorms will occur, strong gusts of wind will blow in, and in the south-western and southern regions during the day, ice grains may be sprinkled.

The culprit will be a cyclone named Gulla traveling through Lithuania from the west. On Tuesday night, Gulla will continue to rain for a long time, and during the day it will already move to the east. An anticyclone is strengthening from the north, through Scandinavia, and it will take the place of a cyclone with drier and colder weather. Later, after merging with the western anticyclone, almost all of Europe will be covered for a short time. The weather will also be “unfriendly”, especially for nature – frost will threaten, not only on the surface of the soil, but also in the air. A cyclone traveling from the north may stop near us during the weekend. With northerly winds, it will still be cool, the rain is still zero, sometimes another wet snowflake may fall. It will be cool, but with an overcast and overcast sky, there should be no frost,” the forecaster writes.

The situation will not change much on Tuesday night, we will remain under the influence of the cyclone. An atmospheric front will pass through the country. It will rain in many places, sometimes with thunderstorms. A light northerly wind will blow. In the morning, the air will cool down to 2-7 degrees Celsius.

On Tuesday, the cyclone will gradually move away, and a small vortex of higher pressure will move from the northwest. Clouds will thin out, unstable cloudiness will prevail. No significant rain is expected. The wind will blow mainly from the north, northwest direction, its speed will reach 7-12 m/s. The highest temperature will reach 10-15 degrees Celsius.

On Wednesday night, the sky will clear up, and only one more translucent cloud will pass by. The wind will be light, northwest direction. Temperatures will be between 1 and 6 degrees Celsius tonight. Frosts of 0-5 degrees are expected in the air and on the soil surface in many places.

Wednesday will be sunny and pleasant. It can rain sparingly in the west only in the northern edge of the country. The northwesterly wind will prevail for most of the day, in the afternoon it will turn more often from the north, northeast, and will be moderate. After noon, the temperature will rise to 11-16 degrees Celsius.

On Thursday night, it will rain briefly in places in the northern districts. A calm wind from the eastern directions will blow. The night will be cool again, the air will cool down to 1-6 degrees Celsius. Somewhere in the air, on the surface of the soil in the greater part of the country, frosts of up to 3 degrees of frost will appear.

On Thursday, the first half will be dry. In the afternoon, spherical rain clouds will begin to form, which will bring short rain in places. The south-easterly wind will turn to the south-west and remain weak. The weather will warm up to 13-18 degrees Celsius this day.

Friday night is forecast to be rainless, with a light south-westerly wind, but with higher temperatures, as the sun rises, thermometers will show 3-8 degrees Celsius.

A cold atmospheric front will reach our country on Friday. Short, mostly light rain is expected in many places. The west, north-west wind will be strong. The temperature on this day will fluctuate between 12 and 17 degrees Celsius.

According to current data, the chance of short and light rain will remain quite high this coming weekend. At night, frosts will frighten again, and during the day it will be around 10-15 degrees.
