Vilnius district municipality plans to increase the birth rate for newborns – MadeinVilnius.lt

The Vilnius District Municipality plans to increase the financing of the newborn baby shower from the municipal budget – from the total allocation of 50,000. EUR up to 150 thousand euros per year.

“The birth of a child is not only joy for parents, but also an important event for the municipality. With a symbolic baby shower, we want to congratulate every resident of the Vilnius district who came into the world, celebrate it together with the parents and support them by increasing funding”, says Robert Duchnevič, mayor of the Vilnius district municipality.

The district municipality indicates that the baby dowry is given as a gift since 2018. The crib consists of various items and tools that are useful to the parents of the baby, especially in the first years of his life.

The updated set is planned to include a hooded towel, a minky blanket, sensory balls, a frozen chew, a rattle, a drinker with a straw and two handles, hygiene tools (scissors with rounded edges, nail nippers, a nail file, a soft natural bristle brush and comb, a pear nose to clean), double-layer bib-necklace set, bowl with lid and spoon, pacifier holder with ring.

Kraitelis is given to all newborns whose at least one parent has declared their place of residence in the Vilnius district and registered the birth of the baby in the civil registry office of the Vilnius district no later than within 3 months from the day of the baby’s birth.

It should be noted that, due to illness or temporary departure, it is possible to extend the term of issuing a dowry up to 6 months. The voucher is non-refundable and non-exchangeable for cash.
