A civil lawsuit for 7.6 thousand was submitted to the Plunge district court. EUR award from the former member of the Kretinga district municipal council, Jolita Vaickienė, who is accused of buying the services of her brother’s company for self-government benefits.

As the Plungė district court reported on Friday, J. Vaickienė served as a member of the municipal council from April 2019 to November 2022, after which she was appointed to the position of director of the administration of the Kretinga district municipality.

Kretinga district municipality administration paid 9.6 thousand to J. Vaickienei during the 2019-2023 municipal council term. EUR compensation for activities related to the duties of a member of the municipal council. 61 percent this amount (5.6 thousand euros) consisted of stationery costs.

According to the court, these tools were purchased by the then politician from a company owned by her brother.

According to the data provided in the civil lawsuit, J. Vaickienė stated in the interview that she distributed part of the purchased office supplies to socially assisted families. The woman argued that she bought the goods from her family member’s company because her brother’s store was opposite the office.

The prosecutor’s office, which submitted a civil lawsuit to the Plungė district court, decided that J. Vaickieni was unjustifiably compensated in the amount of 5.6 thousand. euros for stationery expenses and 2 thousand. 24 euros for fuel, and another 24 euros for other reimbursed expenses.
