The rappers’ concert organized according to the concept of “Silent Disco” – silent parties with headphones – became an exceptional event: “G&G Sindikatas” did something that had hardly been done in Lithuania before.
Two different songs were playing at the same time, one performed by Svaro with DJ Mamania, the other by Kasteto with Donciavus, people could switch channels and listen to different things. There were also “mash-ups” that combined seemingly impossible things, such as the rap of “Nenormalei” and A-ha’s “Take on me”.
“We tried to have something to choose from, and to make the pieces sound completely new and unexpected. This was an extraordinary concert that was easy to enjoy! We are very satisfied with the experiment, because all the hard work, long and serious preparation was crowned with wonderful reactions of people, which best conveys the impression of the concert”, said the members of G&G Sindikatas.
The immediate, warm concert really got a lot of feedback. “It’s hard to find the right words for what happened here tonight!” – said audience member Martyna after the concert. – We bought tickets to this “different” concert without thinking too much about what twists and turns await. And it was an unexpectedly new experience, definitely more than a concert: closeness in a small space, different versions of music at the same time, and the absolute surprise of rapping together to completely different familiar tunes.”
“It is a rare case when this type of performance takes place in Lithuania. A big plus was that the stage was in the middle and people could watch the performance from all sides. The exceptional concert caused extraordinary emotions, which only added to the performance. Working with headphones from the side of the bar was also a new experience, because we felt like we had become a part of the event,” said the bar staff.
“It’s a very nice idea that you can choose which interpretation of the song to listen to during the whole concert. The arrangements of some of the pieces were a particularly fun surprise. I think this is the best G&G Syndicate concert for both die-hard fans and those who are not very familiar with their work. At the “Silent Disco” concert, everyone is in their comfort zone, so you can safely go to such an event with the whole family”, thought Linas, a spectator.
