The people of Kaunas are angry about the changed traffic order: huge traffic jams have spread

Readers of “What’s happening in Kaunas” report about the changed traffic order near “Mega” – yellow lanes have appeared on the A. Meškinis (Kleboniškis) bridge, the turn to Panerių street is closed.

“Meshkinis bridge – the road workers have changed the lanes, patience for those driving tomorrow”, – a Kaunian resident shared in the “What’s happening in Kaunas” group on Sunday.

Under the post, the drivers commented that there were three turns on the road, but according to the people of Kaunas, they should not cause inconvenience.

“I don’t understand how many people find it so difficult to turn the steering wheel a couple of times??? I drove on Saturday around 1 pm, there was already a mini-traffic jam, although there were no accidents… It’s just that when most people see the yellow lanes winding, their driving skills end. And the maximum speed is 30… I don’t even want to see what will happen on Monday morning.

It’s now three turns. Two are so sudden… There are those who want to enter the foreign lane… Well there in the morning max 20 km/h, logically speaking, those suddenness should not cause inconvenience, but knowing that it is a black hole, it will be a new thrombus”, the drivers expressed their observations.

The biggest traffic jams, as expected, meet drivers when driving from Akademija towards “Mega”. Residents of Kaunas report that when driving over the A. Meškinis (Kleboniškis) bridge, the turn to Panerių street is closed.

“You have to change lanes before the bridge and again behind the bridge. Turn and exit to/from Jonava st. possible”, wrote the reader of “What’s happening in Kaunas”.

The people of Kaunas share that this morning the journey to work took longer than usual – fixed traffic jams on the A. Meškini bridge.

“I’m already 20 minutes late for work. I drove twice as long as usual – half an hour,” said the Kaunian.

According to Eismoinfo.lt, during the demolition of the A. Meškini (Kleboniškis) bridge and the reconstruction of the road, the traffic to Vilnius will be on the left bridge, in two lanes, only they will be narrowed. Traffic to Klaipėda will go through the new bridge, traffic to Jonavos st. temporarily not closed.
