According to the political scientist, there is currently a lack of balance between business needs and state security issues.

“Business takes care of itself first, it needs labor and that’s all it thinks about.

Of course, there are businessmen who think about the state as well, but most of them seem to think more about their business. And state security is another matter,” V. Dumbliauskas said on Monday in the “Events and Comments” program of “Žiniai Radio”.

It is believed that the current government did not take appropriate action when the situation was still under control. Here we recall the public statements of the Director of the State Security Department (VSD) Darius Jauniškis in one of the LRT TV shows that there are 65 thousand in Lithuania. Belarusians, and such a situation has already become unmanageable.

“He hadn’t talked to Ingrida Šimonyte before?” Of course he spoke. It means he was not heard. His concerns were not heard by the politicians, but the man came on the show and publicly stated that there was a problem.

My hair stood on end. I have 17 hairs on top of my head, I got pregnant. (…) Where did we end up, that the head of the VSD publicly addressed the public, saying that we have a problem”, wondered the political scientist.

As V. Dumbliauskas says, when politicians are distracted between business interests and issues important to the country’s security, it remains to be stated that they are crossing themselves.

“Let’s not forget that we are few, and there are hundreds of millions of Slavs. We are a state, aren’t we?

We have to have our own action plan of what to do. We didn’t protect the border from the Belarusian side anyway, we built that fence. For now, I am worried that our politicians do not have an adequate solution to manage this situation,” the political scientist summarized.
