Virgilijus Lazauskas, the prosecutor of the Second Criminal Prosecution Department of the Kaunas District Prosecutor’s Office, forwarded the criminal case to the court with the indictment, in which the driver of the Alytus hospital is accused of fraud after allegedly forging travel documents.
The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the investigators of the 1st department of the Economic Crimes Investigation Board of the Kaunas County Chief Police Commissariat.
According to the criminal case, in the period from 2019 January to 2021 In September, one driver of the S. Kudirka hospital in Alytus county is accused of forging the travel documents of two ambulances and one car. The man acquired someone else’s high-value property – fuel – for more than 37.5 thousand for his own benefit by possible fraud. amount of euros.
A person who has worked at the hospital for 35 years, while filling out the travel forms, entered inaccurate data in them – routes and mileage that did not occur, which did not correspond to the data of the GPS system installed in the car. In this way, the driver increased the vehicle’s fuel consumption, submitted falsified travel documents to the accounting employee, who, without suspecting anything, unjustifiably wrote off the fuel.
For the fact that he fraudulently acquired for his own benefit a foreigner’s property belonging to the Alytus County S. Kudirka Hospital with a high value exceeding 400 MGL, but not exceeding 900 MGL and falsified car mileage, the former employee was charged with fraud and falsifying vehicle mileage (according to 182 of the Criminal Code Art. 2 and Art. 306-2.
The previously unconvicted resident of the city of Alytus pleads not guilty to both crimes.
In this criminal case, the mentioned hospital has filed a civil lawsuit for more than 34 thousand. for the amount of euros.
According to the decision of the Kaunas District Prosecutor’s Office, the property belonging to the accused and his spouse is temporarily restricted.
The criminal case was transferred to the Alytus Chamber of the Alytus District Court.
