The Vilnius County Police informed that a pre-trial investigation was started on Thursday according to Article 140. 1 d. – due to minor health impairment. The mildest punishment for this is community service, the most severe is imprisonment for up to 1 year.
The police was informed about this incident on April 15, but it took 10 days to decide whether to start a pre-trial investigation.
Authorities have previously said they have identified both the victim and the attackers.
Images are on the Neo-Nazi channel
A video of the attack was uploaded to a Telegram page spreading neo-Nazi ideas on April 13.
“We present to you a video from a recent operation where our young, inexperienced supporters took justice into their own hands,” captioned the gruesome images posted on the social network.
Neo-Nazis justify their violence by explaining that their victim is a pedophile.
“We are happy, even if these guys have a lot to learn, to see the fire in their eyes to protect the future of white children and make sure these subhumans are punished,” the post reads.
This Telegram channel has been spreading neo-Nazi ideas for some time, talks about “preserving the white race” and ends every post with words for “race and nation”.
“At that time, while we, the white people, fight among ourselves for the lands that belonged to us several centuries or decades ago, the enemy will destroy our peoples,” the channel says.
They did not want to investigate in Klaipėda
This is not the first time that the execution of a young man has been publicized on this neo-Nazi channel. On March 4, a video of a young man from Klaipėda being kicked was uploaded.
Klaipėda officials, having assessed the circumstances at that time, decided not to start a pre-trial investigation. However, this decision was canceled by the prosecutor’s office.
