The pre-trial investigation was led by Laimutė Martinavičienė, the prosecutor of the Criminal Prosecution Department of the Šiauliai District Prosecutor’s Office, and the investigation was conducted by the officers of the Criminal Police Serious Crime Investigation Board of the Šiauliai County Chief Police Commissariat.

During the pre-trial investigation, all available opportunities were exhausted and the actual circumstances of the events were determined. After evaluating the totality of the collected data, the pre-trial investigation was terminated by the prosecutor’s decision after establishing that no crime or misdemeanor had been committed.

The adopted resolution stated that the cause of the child’s death was not related to violence or any other crimes discussed in society.

As previously reported by LNK Žinios, the local community says that the child has not been at school for some time.

“There is no official information, we only know as much as the community is saying that the child was taken away by an ambulance, that he was sick, that he had an operation and died. Everything. A pre-trial investigation is underway. Yes, people are talking about him being sick for a week or more, intestinal problems. The community is shocked, everyone is buzzing, talking, we are all waiting for that legal, reasonable information”, said Saulius Buividas, the elder of the city of Ariogala.

R. Baublienė told the tv3.lt portal that two doctors went to the house to provide help, although the initial information was somewhat different.

“There was a cardiac arrest, he was successfully resuscitated and taken directly to Kaunas clinics. He was not taken to the hospital, but taken directly to the clinics.” The woman says that he was later handed over to the Kaunas Reanimation Brigade. The boy was operated on in Kaunas clinics, but his life could not be saved.

“If this is a frequent case, we always notify Child Rights in any case, special forms are filled out. But there is no such case, so that we often receive reports about this child, there is really no such information,” the interviewer told tv3.lt.
