The well-known man was instilled with the call of nature by his father – since childhood, he traveled a lot around Lithuania with him.

“On foot along rivers, around lakes, through forests. And I liked it. Even in the rain – you sit somewhere by the river under a tarpaulin with a cloak under the canopy and watch how the raindrops fall into the water and turn into bubbles. Lots of action in nature. And you are never alone”, – to the news portal lrytas.lt V. Radzevičius vividly told.

Vytaras and his wife Laisve have been living in a single farm in Dzūkija for more than ten years. He remembered when the then-standing farmhouse was abandoned, overgrown with plums and grasses. Then the Radzevičiai rolled up their sleeves and got to work – this is how the desired image was born little by little. The husband has already built several raised beds – in them he and his wife grow herbs, lettuce, onions, radishes, parsnips, celery, carrots, strawberries, and cucumbers. Tomatoes in the greenhouse. Potatoes on the ground.

“I planted fruit trees, fruit bushes, vines, lindens. I set up a garden. I missed the spot, everything got burnt in the sun. Then I moved the garden to another place and it flourished there.

The wife created several kindergartens. In the warm season, there is always something blooming and pleasing to the eye. During the season, I mow the meadow 6-8 times. There are many plants, both old and new. Old like poetic narcissists are happy – that’s what they call them here. They bloom white. I also have a dogwood tree – it was even difficult to get it, although in the past it was a plant of every homestead”, V. Radzevičius shared his work at the homestead.

Vytaras decided to place a symbolic animal farm right here. The main flock runs around the yard – 9 hens and Petson II the rooster. Well, everything is overseen by the border collie Sid. And all the residents of the homestead live happily.

“The chickens and the rooster get all the food waste like a dessert with grains. I don’t even have a compost bin anymore. I also had two goats as decorative and sabbatical cleaners. But they really needed goats, so I let them go, because the grandson, seeing what they were gutting, asked: “Diudia, what are they doing?” After all, they are both boys!” (Laughs.).

You need to take care of the chickens and collect the eggs. Mow the meadow and garden, take care of the gardens. To master something. To talk to the dog”, Vytaras shared his life in the village.

In the countryside, the weather is different, and there are more insects. V. Radzevičius got used to mosquitoes and became insensitive to them. They are at war with hornets – they noticed that after a while there were more of them.

“And the baits are worn out, they no longer cause headaches. I have been vaccinated against tick-borne diseases, but I check myself every day for ticks. And when I go to the forest, I dress in dark, tight travel clothes. I am safe”, assured V. Radzevičius.

The man enjoys life in the village with all his heart. Here, it seems, he will rest the best.

“I don’t just look at the trees. Sometimes I hug an old oak and stand for a few minutes. Interesting feeling. Looks like you’re charging. Although maybe it’s more of a placebo, but it works for me. And it has a calming effect”, said V. Radzevičius.

He discovers something special in every season. For Vytar, everyone is beautiful in their own way.

“I like when it’s a real winter with a lot of snow and cold, when you bring wood and light the stove. Autumn likes colors and mushrooms. Summer – with smells, buzzing and chirping, spring – awakening greenery and flowering”, the famous man taught.

What kind of work awaits him in the homestead when spring comes?

“I look at myself from the side and laugh. An ex-punk who reads literature on gardening and horticulture. And then you go to prune, tie, plant, dig, weed. A lot of those works. But when you combine them with sitting, screen work, it’s very suitable. Equilibrium occurs. When you can’t kick the ball anymore, you dig the ground,” smiled Vytaras.

Speaking about life in the village, Vytaras thought that if he hadn’t dropped anchor here, he would be thinking about life… On a ship!

“I am fascinated by seas and oceans. I look at their horizons and want to travel far away. Another extreme. But never say never… Maybe it will be. I will live in Dzūkija, and I will sail to the sea in Nemunu when the sluice is installed at the Kaunas HPP. It is not forbidden to dream.

But for me, the most beautiful places in the world are by the water. Like Merkinė above the confluence of 3 rivers. It’s not good. Coast of Peru on the Pacific Ocean. Is the underwater world of the Indian Ocean. The world is beautiful,” Vytaras said.
