Is it possible to develop the non-daily dance practice in the urban neighborhood as a certain direction of movement and thus create new daily ritual experiences? Can neighborhood space open up to movement games that don’t have age or body restrictions? Can the city, the yard be experienced in a new way, by reviving the old outdoor games, transforming them through today’s urban dance language? What choreographies do urban-movers and dancers create in repetitive movement, both individually and in community?

The Vilnius City Dance Theater and School “Low Air” hopes that the recurring codes of movement games, street and contemporary dance will invite everyone to get involved, and choreographic combinations and meetings will bring together the observers to simply explore or reflect on those who move, as characters in the common game of this moment. Maybe you want to continue the dance day throughout the year?

Dance unites – Vilnius residents, guests of the city on April 29. are invited to meet:

16:00–17:00 in Vilnius Cathedral Square, where hip-hop, break and modern dance children’s groups of the dance school “Low Air” will play movement games;

18:00–19:30 in Justiniškiau micro-district Šypsenų alley, near Taika str. 10 of the building. The games will start next to the main entrance to the shopping center “Norfa XL” (Justiniškių g. 91A), near the stop called “Justiniškės”.

Movement games will be played by dance school “Low Air” in hip-hop, house, break, waackingjazz and modern dance groups for teenagers and adults.

The event is free and open to everyone. Meetings will take place in Vilnius Cathedral Square and Şypsenų Alley in Justiniškių microdistrict on International Dance Day on April 29.
