Yesterday, the southern cyclone brought snow to Lithuania. Most of the snow fell in the east and northeast of the country – about three weeks’ worth of precipitation in a day and a half. On the beach – incomparably less. Today at 9 in the morning in Panevėžys there were 17 centimeters, shortly after lunch – only 8. The snow was melting rapidly.

In the coming night, the sky will be cloudy, but there will be some clearings. In some places, there is not a lot of snow, and one other wet snowflake is possible. It will be slippery in some places because of the bare ice. It will start raining in the southeast in the morning hours, and by the end of the day light rain will cover the whole country.

The lowest temperature overnight will be 1-3 degrees Celsius, with temperatures as low as 3 degrees Celsius in some places, but where it will remain clear for longer, there may be frosts of up to 9 degrees Celsius on the ground surface. Tomorrow the weather will warm up to 9-11 degrees, but where it rains longer, it will be only 6-7 degrees.

A new cyclone will arrive from the south on Thursday. It will rain both at night and during the day. The lowest temperature at night will be 4-6, the highest during the day will be 10-12 in the eastern part of the country, in the east it will be around 6-8 degrees.

No rain is expected on Friday night, during the day there will be light rain in many places. The lowest temperature at night will be around 1-3 degrees Celsius, there will still be frost in some places, it will warm up to 11-13 degrees during the day, in the west of the country from 8 to 10 degrees Celsius.

“On Saturday, the weather will be much warmer, and on Sunday it is forecast to be 20 degrees Celsius, maybe even slightly more.” Next week it will be summer-like,” – says forecaster Naglis Šulija.
