The reporter reached the firefighters and indicated the exact location.

When the firefighters arrived, the animal was already in the shallows of the Nemunas River, about 3 meters from the shore. Consideration was given to calling in representatives of the Animal Welfare Association to determine whether the animal was tagged and to provide temporary custody. However, after pulling the dog ashore, its collar was examined. And the owner’s contact phone number was written on the collar.

Marius Grabys, the shift commander of the 1st team of the Kaunas Fire Rescue Board, called the specified phone number and contacted the owner. It turns out that she had missed the animal and was looking for it, she was about to announce the search on social networks, but just then the fire department called and reported the good news.

Firefighters met Greta, the owner of the three-year-old dog Tango, who was arriving, and handed her an early bath lover. And he lives not far from Nemunas Island – in Šančiai, on Juozapavičius Avenue.

The rescue operation was attended by Marius Grabys, the shift commander of the Kaunas Fire Rescue Board, firemen Evaldas Katauskas, Artūras Abrasonis, Laimundas Paulauskas, and trainee firefighter and rescuer Justinas Arštikis.
