Normally, when installing a gas system in a car, one gas cylinder is used, but forensics found as many as four.

During a thorough inspection, after dismantling carefully installed cylinders of gas equipment, hiding places with narcotic substances – cannabis were discovered. In the shadow market, the value of such quantity may exceed 110 thousand. euros.

Officers found more than 3,000 glasses in a case designed for keeping glasses in the car’s cabin. euros in cash, allegedly intended for criminal activities.

During the search of the detainee’s house, about 1 thousand were found. pcs electronic cigarette tips with liquids suspected to contain tetrahydrocannabinol.

450 units were also found and taken. unused electronic cigarette batteries, containers with unclear liquid residues, cooking, mixing and storage tools.

The suspect is known to law enforcement and has been convicted abroad for similar activities.

The man was charged with smuggling a very large amount of narcotic or psychotropic substances (Article 260, d. 3 of the Criminal Code) and illegal possession of a very large amount (Article 260-1, d. 5 of the Criminal Code).

The maximum penalty is imprisonment for up to 18 years. After evaluating the submitted data, the Court imposed the strictest preventive measure on the person suspected of illegal “business” – arrest (3 months). The pre-trial investigation is conducted by the officers of the organized crime investigation department of the Criminal Police of the Alytus County Chief Police Commissariat. The case is controlled by the prosecutors of the Organized Crime and Corruption Investigation Department of the Kaunas District Prosecutor’s Office.
