Aliaksandr Lukashenka, who declared himself the president of Belarus after fake elections, while visiting the border zone, ordered “not to play” with border violators and to “destroy them on the spot”.

“I will say publicly: any provocation must be prevented by armed means. They are nothing to joke with. Violated the state border – to destroy. No one has to play with it. And we will do so,” he threatened.

A. Lukashenko did not specify which country’s criminals he is talking about. The border between Belarus and Lithuania, Poland or Latvia is constantly violated by citizens of third countries trying to enter the territory of the EU.

Over the weekend, following the terrorist attack in Moscow’s Crocus City Hall entertainment and shopping complex, Belarusian law enforcement officials confirmed that they had carried out an operation to strengthen border control with Russia in order to prevent a possible retreat of terrorists. The four suspects were traveling by car on the highway, which could be used to reach the territories of Ukraine or Belarus.

Exercises on the side of Lithuania

According to “Belaruski Hajun” information, during the inspection of military readiness, units of the 19th mechanized brigade will be deployed in two districts of Belarus bordering Lithuania: Ashmena and Pastovi. The locations are not chosen randomly. This brigade belongs to the Northwestern Operational Command of the Belarusian Land Forces, whose task is to cover the directions of Lithuania and Latvia.

KAM: There is no reason to worry about the reports of the movement of Belarusian forces

On the border of Lithuania, the Ministry of National Defense (KAM), reacting to reports that appeared in the public space last week about the movement of Belarusian military forces on the border of Lithuania, says that there is no reason to worry.

“Belarus announces that with this inspection of the military forces it also responds to the national and NATO exercises taking place in Lithuania and the region. Military intelligence is constantly monitoring and assessing the situation. There is no reason to worry,” said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement issued in March. According to the ministry, the country is conducting routine combat training of its military forces.
