This year, the contestants will delve deeper into the topic of forests and their preservation and will look for a creative solution to strengthen public awareness of the importance and future of forests. The participants will learn the specific task during the creative session on April 18.

Gabrielė Burbienė, marketing and development manager of the “15min group” organizing the “Young Lions” competition in Lithuania, says that the theme of the competition was dictated by the growing public involvement in the topic of forests.

“Recent years have clearly shown that trees and forests are not only a matter for institutions and politicians. Society has repeatedly demonstrated its focus on the preservation of specific trees. Meanwhile, at the institutional and political level, there is no common vision of how to highlight Lithuania as a green, forested, sustainable country.

The “Young Lions” competition is the best opportunity for budding creatives to appear on the international stage or at least to attract attention in the local market. In addition, when examining socially sensitive topics, they have the opportunity to express their point of view, to offer bold ways to solve problems relevant to society”, assured Aivaras Šičkus, director of The Atomic Garden.
