A source told AFP that the strike on an oil refinery in the Russian republic of Bashkortostan was “the work of the SBU” carried out at “record distance”.

This was reported to the Ukrinform news agency by a source in the Ukrainian law enforcement agencies.

“Last night, two oil depots caught fire in the village of Yurovka in the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation near Anapa,” the interviewer said.

He added that it was a successful operation by UST strike drones.

According to the source, these oil bases supply fuel to the Russian military in Crimea, as they are close to the peninsula.

Videos of the fires caused by the strikes are circulating in the Russian media. According to local authorities, 62 people and 100 pieces of equipment are fighting them.

“The season of ‘fun’ is in full swing at Russian oil refineries and oil bases. UST will continue to reduce Russia’s economic and logistical potential for war,” the source added.

Earlier, the BBC Russian service reported that on the night of May 9, several drones attacked an oil base in the village of Yurovka in Russia’s Krasnodar Territory.

As Ukrinform wrote, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he is convinced that international partners must support retaliatory strikes by the Ukrainian armed forces on infrastructure on Russian territory.
