The aggressor admits that their Su34 bomber crashed near Valuky (Berlgorod region). A very experienced crew is said to have died.
The reasons for the crash of this aircraft that was flying to bomb Kharkiv are not completely clear, but in any case, this is good news – KAB will fall on the heads of Ukrainians less.
Luhansk direction
Kupjansk. The aggressor continues operations on the northern flank (Synkivka) and in the Kyslivka – Tabaivka – Stelmahivka section. The battles are tough, but the Ukrainians are holding their ground.
Lyman. Ukrainian forces repelled the aggressor’s attacks in the Terni-Torské section and in the forests of the southern flank.
Syverska. Without changes, clashes continue along the contact line.
Donetsk direction
Chasiv Yar. Ukrainian sources (eg A. Kovalenko) report that the aggressor is in a hurry. Having failed to block the city from the north and south and cross the canal, he began to form assault groups and is preparing for an assault on Chasiv Yar.
The core of the assault is said to be formed by units of the 98th Airborne Division’s 2nd Corps (former “separats”) and 3rd Corps (a “volunteer” unit formed in the summer of 2022 when the Russians began to run out of manpower).
It is these units that have been trying to break through the Ukrainian defense for some time, and at least at the moment, it is not recorded that any fresh units have begun to operate in the sector. So the offensive potential is quite limited unless reserve units are brought in, e.g. Units of the 106th Airborne Division were redeployed from the Syversk sector or units of the 7th and 76th Airborne Divisions were redeployed from Zaporizhia.
On Monday, information appeared that one of the canal crossings was destroyed. It is difficult to understand why some Ukrainian sources announced that they were blown up by Ukrainian defenders retreating to the western bank of the canal.
The truth is that Ukrainian forces are holding positions on the eastern side of the channel, clashes continue on the northern flank (Kalynivka approaches), the eastern edge of Chasiv Yar and the southern flank (Ivanivsk, Klishijivka – Andrijivka).
Pokrovsk – Vuhledar. Northern flank. Ukrainian forces prevent the occupiers from further advancing north of the Arkhangelsk – Keramik section.
The Russians are trying to attack Novoaleksandrivka, but the Ukrainians have maintained their positions here as well. Meanwhile, the problems in the Sokilo – Novopokrovske – Umanské section – the Russians have almost approached Novopokrovske, heavy fighting continues.
Center. The Russians are intensively attacking Nevelska, the Ukrainians have maintained their positions, but the situation is complicated.
South direction
Aggressor aviation KAB attacked targets on the right bank of the Dnieper and Krynkai. No changes in the contact line.
The direction of Zaporizhia is unchanged.
