Several explosions rocked the southern Ukrainian port city of Odesa late Wednesday.

Photos and videos posted on social networks and by the State Emergency Situations Service showed a large warehouse on fire.

Russia said the warehouse was a weapons depot, Nova Pošta said in a statement on Facebook.

The attack “destroyed not only our warehouse” but also 904 shipments “from online stores with clothes, household appliances, children’s toys, pet products, medicine” and parcels from relatives, Nova Pošta said.

According to the company, the expenses for the destroyed shipments will be compensated.

14 people were injured in the attack, but none of the 18 employees who were in the warehouse at the time were among the victims, as they managed to reach the hiding place in time, Nova Pošta co-owner Volodymyr Poperešniuk said on Facebook.

In October 2023, the “Nova Pošta” warehouse was also damaged by a Russian strike in the Kharkiv region. Seven people were killed and more than 10 injured in the attack.
