It is announced that in 2024, Norway should give Kyiv a total of about 22 billion. crowns (1.86 billion euros).
Additional funds will be transferred from the 75 billion kroner (EUR 6.4 billion) military and civilian aid package, which Norway is committed to disburse to Kyiv in 2023-2027.
“This is a matter of life and death for the people of Ukraine,” the prime minister said during the press conference.
“It is also a question of security and stability in Europe, and therefore in Norway,” he added.
It is claimed that 6 billion of this planned amount kroner (507 million euros) will be allocated to military aid, primarily air defense system and ammunition.
JG Store noted that Norway will join Germany and the Czech Republic, which have already taken the financial initiative to provide this assistance.
Of the 75 billion allocated for Ukraine of the kroner package, Norway will have used about 39.5 billion by the end of 2024. (4.67 billion euros) crowns.
Norway, a major oil and gas producer that has benefited greatly from rising prices since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, is one of the main backers of Kyiv, according to a ranking compiled by the Kiel Institute.
