The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine announced this in a comment published on its website.

“According to preliminary data, the dead citizens were soldiers undergoing medical rehabilitation in Germany. “Ukrainian consuls are clarifying information about the units in which the deceased served and establishing contacts with their families,” said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba thanked the German law enforcement officers for the prompt arrest of the suspect, a 57-year-old Russian citizen.

D. Kuleba instructed the Department of Consular Services and the Consulate General in Munich to ensure special control of the case and to maintain constant contact with German law enforcement authorities to ensure that the murderer is punished to the full extent of the law.

As reported, two Ukrainian citizens, men born in 1987 and 2001, were killed on April 27 in Murnau am Stafelze, Bavaria, Germany, in the territory of a local shopping center. They were stabbed. A 36-year-old man died at the scene, a second victim died in hospital the same evening.

The police arrested a 57-year-old Russian citizen suspected of committing a double murder. An investigation is underway.
