Vakaris Gudaitis was hit by a car on the N17 in Barnacarroll, Claremorris, Co Mayo on Saturday.

No one could have foreseen or prepared for these unfortunate circumstances.”

The description continued: “As you know, funerals can be quite expensive, so we are asking the public for donations to help the Gudaiči family say goodbye to their son.

Any donation, large or small, will be greatly appreciated to cover funeral expenses.

Let’s help this family at this difficult time.”

Looking for witnesses to the incident

Local police are asking for witnesses to this horrific incident.

Police in Ireland said in a statement: “Police and emergency services attended the scene of a fatal traffic accident on the N17 at Barnacarroll, Claremorris, Co. Mayo, last night, Saturday, 2024 March 30

The collision occurred at approximately 9:20 p.m. and involved a car and a pedestrian. The pedestrian teenager was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been taken to Mayo University Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.”
