The Lithuanian Energy Agency (LEA) reported that the price of gasoline fell by 1.0 percent and diesel by 2.3 percent during the week. This is the second week in a row that average fuel prices in Lithuania have decreased. Fuel in our country is now again cheaper than in Poland.
On May 6, the average price of diesel in Lithuania was 1.47 EUR/l, the average price of gasoline was 1.54 EUR/l.
During the week, the average prices of gasoline decreased in all compared Baltic countries and neighboring countries by 1-2.7 percent, with the exception of Poland, where the average price increased by 0.8 percent.
The average price of gasoline in Poland is 1.56 EUR/l and is 0.02 EUR/l higher than in our country. Average gasoline prices in Estonia and Latvia are 1.78 EUR/l and 1.73 EUR/l, respectively.
The average prices of diesel in all compared Baltic countries and neighboring countries decreased by 0.2-2.6 percent, with the exception of Poland, where the average price increased by 0.5 percent.
The average price of diesel in Poland is 1.56 EUR/l and is 0.09 EUR/l higher than in our country. In Estonia and Latvia, the average prices of diesel are 1.58 EUR/l and 1.67 EUR/l, respectively.
Average gasoline prices in all comparable states are now between 3 and 8 percent higher. higher than twelve months ago, and average diesel prices are now 5-13 percent higher. higher than last year at the same time.
In EU countries, fuel also became cheaper last week: the average price of gasoline decreased by 0.6 percent, and diesel – by 0.8 percent. Compared to the average fuel prices of EU countries, the average price of gasoline in Lithuania is 14.2 percent. lower, diesel – 10.6 percent. smaller.
At the beginning of May (1-8), wholesale fuel prices in Lithuania also decreased: gasoline became cheaper by 0.06 EUR/l, diesel – by 0.03 EUR/l.
