Polish intelligence chief: V. Putin is already ready for a small operation against NATO, but there is something stopping him

According to him, all forecasts of analytical centers that do not have detailed information about Russia’s readiness for a possible attack on a NATO country are based only on certain assumptions.

The intelligence chief admitted that the head of the Kremlin already has the ability to organize a small operation against a NATO member state.

“Vladimir Putin, of course, is already ready for some mini-operation against one of the Baltic countries, for example, entering the famous Narva. Or disembark on one of the Swedish islands”, said J. Strożykas.

However, he claimed in the interview that the intentions of the authoritarian Russian president are hindered by the position of the West. Western cooperation in supporting Ukraine only shows Putin that if he were to take action against NATO, he would receive an unprecedented response.

Earlier, Polish President Andrzej Duda said that Russia could restore its military potential and attack NATO countries as early as 2026. In saying this, he relied on the report of German experts and argued the need for allies to increase defense spending.

According to the American publication “The Wall Street Journal”, NATO soldiers from 14 member states gathered in Latvia at the end of last month to participate in the biggest military exercises of the Alliance since the Cold War. One of the main goals is to send a signal to Moscow that the Alliance is ready to defend its members, especially those located near the border with Russia, including Lithuania.

The media also reports that Germany is planning to train US troops to fight on NATO’s eastern front. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz emphasized that Germany is determined to defend every square centimeter of NATO territory from Russian aggression.
