On June 8, Rotterdam, the Netherlands, will host the Glory martial arts tournament, where eight light heavyweight fighters will compete for the Grand Prix title.
It was already clear that the former Glory champion will also participate in this tournament, where the Grand Prix winner will have to overcome as many as three opponents in one evening Sergey Masloboev (38-6, 23 knockouts), and now all eight participants of the “Grand Prix” tournament have been revealed.
The current light heavyweight champion from Morocco was announced as the final participant of the Grand Prix tournament Tarik Khbabez (58-10-1, 28 knockouts), who defeated the Surinamese fighter Donetsk Abena (27-10, 7 knockouts), who scandalously took the belt from S. Maslobojev.
In addition to S.Masloboev and T.Khbabez, the already mentioned D.Abena, as well as an Azerbaijani fighter, will also compete in the Grand Prix tournament Bahram Rajabzadeh (67-2, 59 knockouts), France’s rising star Pascal Toure (20-6, 7 KOs), Romanian Stefan Latescu (17-2, 8 KOs), Romanian Bogdan Stoica (58-14, 40 knockouts) and Moroccan Ibrahim El Bouni (41-9-1, 22 knockouts).
It is not yet known who will fight with whom in the quarter-finals and how the pairs of the semi-finals will be formed.
S. Masloboev has not fought in the “Glory” organization since 2023. on February 11, when doctors stopped the fight due to a wound in the Lithuanian’s leg, he lost the championship title to D. Abena.
Since then, S. Masloboev has appeared twice in tournaments in Lithuania and won crushing victories, but those times he fought as a heavyweight.
