This was reported by Politico on Tuesday, based on information provided by three European officials and one American official.
“The United States and other Western countries are considering handing over to NATO the US-led international group coordinating the delivery of weapons to Ukraine – this is one of several proposals to ensure the continued supply of weapons to Kiev if Donald Trump is re-elected as president,” the article reads.
The article also points out that this is just one of several proposals that could help ensure an uninterrupted supply of arms to Kiev should Trump win the election. This issue is to be discussed at the meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Brussels on Wednesday and Thursday.
Another option would be not to give the North Atlantic Alliance full control of the Ramstein Group, but to change NATO’s status within it.
Meetings of the Defense Contact Group for Ukraine are reportedly held almost monthly at the initiative of the United States and are held online or in person.
