Russia has dramatically stepped up its actions to disrupt or even block satellite communications in the Baltic region. In recent days, Poland and the Baltic countries have become victims of the longest disruption in history. This is preparation for a full-scale war with NATODefense Romania reports.
The Polish press cites a report by a Swedish OSINT analyst who goes by the pseudonym Markus Jonsson on the “X” platform. On Monday morning, it reported that the latest jamming of signals in the Baltic Sea region had been going on for almost 60 hours. If Russia’s activity is confirmed, we will essentially be witnessing a new record.
The signal is disturbed over most of Poland, eastern Germany, southern Sweden, Lithuania, part of Latvia, most of Estonia, and also over Finland.
The first disturbance of the GPS signal over Poland and/or the Baltic Sea region was recorded at the end of December last year. In the following weeks, the phenomenon was repeated and was observed in countries such as Germany.
In addition, on March 14 Russia disabled the GPS signal of the British Defense Minister’s plane flying over the Kaliningrad exclave.
The so-called Baltic Jammer, a complex jamming network located in the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad, appears to be responsible for jamming equipment in this region.
