The students of Mindaugas Tamušauskas defeated the hosts Kėdainiai Sports Center basketball players 83:77 (20:20, 24:26, 21:19, 18:12).
It was a dramatic and even battle throughout the match. The teams went to the break with a difference of 2 points (46:44), and after the third quarter neither team was able to gain an advantage (65:65).
With 1:10 minutes left to play, Nojus Bukauskas scored two points with a foul and reduced the deficit of the Kedana team to a minimum (77:78).
However, the decisive word was given by the Plungians. With 14 seconds left, Nojus Radžius hit a three-pointer, which cemented the lead of “Olimpo” (81:77).
Kėdainians failed to attack, and the same N. Radžius threw two free throws to close the issue of the winner.
Having achieved victory, Plunge “Olimpas” not only won gold medals, but also gained the right to compete in the National Basketball League (NKL).
The winners were led by Dominykas Matutis scoring 14 points, Nojus Radžius scored 13, Deivydas Šeršenis added 12 points.
D. Matutis, who played the most productive matches, was chosen as the most useful basketball player of the final four.
Laurynas Danieliaus’ 17 points did not save Kėdainiai, Nojus Bukauskas and Ignas Lukošius scored 13 each, Arminas Kelmelis and Rokas Ūzas added 11 points each.
