In the third round of the tournament, the Spanish tennis sensation easily defeated Brazilian representative Thiago Seyboth Wilda (ATP-63) 6:3, 6:3.

C. Alcaraz has already won his 13th consecutive victory in the “Masters” championship in Madrid, and he has lost the only time in his career in this tournament – to Rafael Nadal in 2021, when the young tennis player was only 18 years old.

The third player in the world is aiming for a record achievement in the Spanish capital – to become the first to win this tournament three times in a row.

In the round of 16 on Tuesday, C. Alcaraz will face a well-known opponent – Jan-Lennard Struff (ATP-24). These tennis players decorated the final of last year’s Madrid tournament as well, and after a hard fight the Spaniard won 6:4, 3:6, 6:3.

“I hope the result will be the same as last year. I know the opponent’s level of play, I know that I will have to show my best tennis in order to win. It will be necessary to return as many balls to the court as possible,” Alcaraz taught.

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (ATP-28) did not have the same success on Sunday in Madrid. The latter lost to Andrej Rubliov (ATP-7) 6:7(10), 4:6.

The first set in the tiebreak the Spaniard led as much as 5-0 and wasted a total of five set pointand in the second set, at a decisive moment, not to hit the ball, which was hanging on the back line by a millimeter.
