Jurgen Klopp’s men only lost the city derby to Premier League survival strugglers Everton on Wednesday night.

Playing in front of their own fans, the “blues” triumphed 2:0 (1:0).

It was J. Klopp’s last Liverpool city derby. The 56-year-old German has decided to retire from Liverpool after this season.

The most interesting thing is that out of 18 Liverpool derbies, J. Klopp has lost only one so far, but this time he received a very painful slap.

Everton were put in front by defender Jarrad Branthwaite (27 minutes) before Dominic Calvert-Lewin doubled the lead early in the second half (58 minutes).

After this setback, Liverpool remain second in the Premier League with 74 points, but Manchester City (73 points) are just one point behind with two games in hand.

Arsenal lead the way with 77 points (also having played two more games than defending champions City).

“Everton” (33 points) remains 16th after this success, but is already 8 points ahead of the relegation zone.

Other Premier League results:

Manchester United – Sheffield United 4:2

London Crystal Palace – Newcastle 2:0

Wolverhampton – Bournemouth 0-1
