Sociologist Rasa Ališauskienė, head of “Baltijos tyrimi” said that there is still a large part of people who do not have a clear favorite in the presidential elections.

“It is interesting that among those planning to go (to vote, author’s page), 46 percent had already firmly chosen the candidate for whom they would vote. But about 25 percent said they could still change their minds, but at least they knew who they weren’t going to vote for. And another 20 percent said that they will go to the elections, but have not yet chosen who they will vote for.

So, there are many of them. And their decision can be decisive. Although it is unlikely that they will all come together to support any one candidate, because they still spread out a bit. But the proportion of those who still do not have a clear favorite is high”, sociologist R. Ališauskienė presented the data.

Vilmorus manager, sociologist Valdas Gaidys said that the differences between the voters of different parties are enormous.

“When asked in polls whether people will really come to the elections, the difference is approximately such that 80 voters of the Fatherland Union say that they will definitely come. And the Labor Party – 30 percent, almost three times less. Also about 30 percent of the voters of the Democratic Union “Vardan Lietuvos” (to come, author’s page). the differences are vast and gigantic. That activity can determine a lot,” said sociologist V. Gaidys.

R. Ališauskienė named which presidential candidates voters should no longer change their minds about.

“Candidates also have supporters of such unequal strength. There are candidates who have fewer supporters, but they are determined to support one candidate, and they will definitely come and vote. Ingrida Šimonytė’s voters are also the most loyal to Remigijaus Žemaitaitis. Those who choose these two candidates say that they will not change their minds.

Others are like menus. They are still thinking about meat or fish for the main dish,” R. Ališauskienė told the LNK program “Labas vakaras, Lietuva” with insights.

Sociologist V. Gaidys shared his insight that the result of the presidential election will be determined not so much by undecided voters, but by the most active voters.

“Passives will lose. But it remains to be seen what the weather will be like on May 12. If it is very beautiful, some of the voters, even if Igno Vēgėlės will plant potatoes, will engage in such work. But the voter of I. Šimonytė will come to vote anyway, regardless of the weather,” said V. Gaidys.
