According to A. Mazuronis, decisions on the adjustment of the EP list should be made by “workers” on Thursday, at a remote meeting of the party council.

Such considerations were heard from the “workers” after the Financial Crimes Investigation Service (FNTT) officials visited the party’s headquarters in Vilnius on Tuesday regarding the investigation being conducted by the European Prosecutor’s Office, possibly related to the activities of the party’s founder, Viktor Uspaskich, in the EP.

“This situation presupposes that in the near future the party will either have to change the leaders of the EP list or change the chairman of the party,” said A. Mazuronis.

Fyodorov: Maybe it’s time to let go

Viktoras Fyodorov, deputy chairman of the Labor Party, said in the Seimas on Thursday that he supports the party chairman’s idea not to participate in the EP elections.

“It’s just that we probably won’t be ready to participate in these elections. After any shadow cast, it takes time to put everything together and prepare for the election. We don’t have time for that, and in any case, all those stories really don’t add anything to us,” the politician told reporters in the Seimas.

According to him, the party will discuss the situation at the council meeting on Thursday evening.

“I’m tired of this stuff. I’m tired of all the stories that move along with the Labor Party,” V. Fedorov admitted.

“But I have all kinds of suggestions. One of those is maybe it’s time to let go,” he added.
