The body of a dead man was found in Kaunas on Wednesday, the Police Department reports.
According to law enforcement, the body of the man (born in 1983) was found around 10:00 a.m. 30 minutes Lakūnai pl. in the apartment. It is suspected that the man fatally injured himself.
According to the Department of Fire Protection and Rescue, the police called for the help of firefighters, who broke down the wooden door of the apartment and then found a person in the apartment without signs of life.
According to the pre-trial investigation, the man’s body found in the apartment had stab wounds in the chest and abdomen. The inspection at the given address was carried out after receiving a report from the Singapore Interpol National Office, which indicated that a man was injuring himself with a knife on the online chat app Tik Tok.
The initial conclusions of the Forensic Medical Examiner confirm the version of suicide. Multiple, repeated injuries of a similar direction were found on the man’s body. No signs of self-defense were found.
The pre-trial investigation is led by the prosecutor of the Second Department of the Kaunas District Prosecutor’s Office, and the investigation is conducted by the officers of the Kaunas County Chief Police Commissariat’s Criminal Police Serious Crimes Investigation Board.
