Slip in the Atmata river
Šilutė district municipality announced that it will install a 4.3 m wide and 21 m long slip for launching and lifting small boats in Uostadvary. The funds of the municipality and the Environmental Management Support Fund will be used for this.
It is planned to build an access road with a parking lot next to the slip.
A new boat launching and launching slip will be installed at the Atmata River.
Some time ago, a modern observation tower of the Nemunas Delta and the Curonian Lagoon was planned to be built in Uostadvary by the Atmata River. Good wishes have stalled for now as the tower’s construction estimate has skyrocketed.
Uostadvaris is becoming one of the more attractive and attractive places in Šilute district. It has a harbor and a lighthouse, which are managed and maintained by the Inland Waterways Directorate. There is also a polder water lifting station in Uostadvár, which has been transformed into a kind of museum of this area.
Ships will take you to Preila
A facility related to the operation of small boats is also promised to be installed in the Curonian Spit.
Currently, a tender has been announced to prepare a project for a boat trailer storage area in Preila.
990 sq. m. meters near the Curonian Lagoon, almost 700 sq. meter trailer storage area. It could tentatively accommodate up to 15 cars with trailers
It is planned to install 1-2 charging points for electric cars on the site.
The philosophy of setting up such a relatively small site is simple – to attract as many visitors to Preila as possible. The aim is that people with transportable small boats will be able to land their boats and sail when they arrive in Preila.
It is hoped that they will stay in Preila itself for a longer period of time.

There won’t be a bus yet
Klaipėda may have a sad shipping season this year.
This year, the municipality will probably not be able to launch the planned and promised water bus on the Dangė River, although preparations were made for it.
Back in February, the Klaipėda City Municipality announced a tender for the construction of pedestrian paths and playgrounds by the Dangė River. The pitches are planned to be installed in those places where panton piers are planned to be built in the future.
This year, the municipality will probably not be able to launch the planned and promised water bus on the Dangė River, although preparations were made for it.
A total of 5 trails are planned to be installed near the Liepai street bridge, Dangės vingi, Žolynė quarter, Botanic garden and Tauralaukis bridge. 6 sq.m. will be installed in those places. meters wide pitches.
Retaining walls of the Dangė River, 13 to 20 m long and 1.5 m high, are planned to be installed at the Liepų street bridge, Dangė bend, Žolynė quarter, Botanical garden and Tauralauki bridge.
All these works are related to the idea of launching a water bus on the Dangė river. The places near the Liepai street bridge, Dangės bend, Žolynė quarter, Botanical garden and Tauralaukis bridge would be the places where water buses could pick up and drop off passengers.
It seems that there will probably not be a water bus for this year’s season, because there is nowhere for it to swim. One of the reasons is that the botanical garden of Klaipėda University, located by the Dangė River, is planned to be fundamentally renovated in the summer. It was planned as one of the attractive places where the Sky River Water Bus could transport people during the season.
They will mark the border in the Curonian Lagoon
The fact that the shipping season is already here is also evidenced by the fact that the State Border Guard Service is preparing to mark the state border with Russia in the Curonian Lagoon.
A total of 11 new border marking buoys are planned. According to the scheme, 31 buoys mark the state border in the Curonian Lagoon. This may mean that the remaining buoys have already been used in previous years.
This year, it is planned to build completely new cylindrical buoys made of stainless steel or galvanized metal and UV-resistant polyethylene.
Special metal plates are placed on each buoy. They are designed so that ships can fix buoys. The plates are like radar transponders on ships.
Special anchors will have to be made to hold buoys weighing up to 130 kilograms.
Red buoys will be installed in the Curonian Lagoon. This color was chosen not because they will mark the water border with Russia, but because the requirements for the most clearly visible red color have been submitted by the International Association of Lighthouse Authorities (IALA – International Association Lighthouse Authorities).
