As it is written in the statement of the Lithuanian army, on May 10 around 10 a.m. Soldiers of the Marine and Coastal Surveillance Service of the Naval Forces (KJP), returning after the day’s duty at the Nida Sea Monitoring Station, noticed that the Toyota car driving ahead on the Nida-Klaipėda road, suddenly started to wander and became uncontrollable on the downhill, ran off the road, overturned was left lying on its side on the side of the road.

4 soldiers traveling in the KJP service transport stopped on the side of the road and ran to the car that had an accident in order to provide assistance to the possibly injured people. One soldier immediately reported the incident to the General Emergency Center by calling 112. The police, medical aid and fire brigade were called.

The driver in the car was unable to unfasten his seat belt and the car itself was lying on the side of the driver’s door. After receiving the driver’s consent and making sure that there is no danger to life, the KJP soldiers turned the car onto its wheels and the driver got out of it with the help of the soldiers.

When the medics and firefighters arrived, the driver was handed over to them.
