“During the warm season, the people of Alyty have a great place for their free time – Big Dailide Lake. It would seem, for everyone and always. But where do wheelchair users go when it suddenly rains? So, is it really for everyone?” – asked the question of the person from Alytus who sent a letter to the editors of AlytusPlius.lt.
He added photos showing an outdoor gazebo by Dailides lake, where you can hide from the sun and the rain, but the man pointed out that it would not be possible for people with disabilities to enter it with a wheelchair.
“But it would take so little: a few signs and the understanding of the area supervisors”, said the resident, hoping that the responsible persons will pay attention to the observation and contribute to the faster integration of people with disabilities into society by adapting public spaces to their needs.
As indicated by the representatives of the Alytus city municipality, the resident’s comments and suggestions will be taken into account – it is planned to install a convenient entrance at the indicated place.
