Legalization procedure
The chairman of the garden association himself or a person authorized by him submits an application on behalf of the garden association to the municipality in whose territory the well is located. When filling out the application, it is necessary to indicate the amount of water consumed in cubic meters. meters per day (calculating the annual average). If the amount of extracted water is not known, it is recommended to install a groundwater metering device.
After receiving the approval of the municipal administration to use a borehole, the chairman of the garden association or his authorized person applies to a company that has a permit issued by the Lithuanian Geological Service for underground water search and exploration activities.
If the garden community consumes up to 10 cubic meters per day. meters (calculating the annual average) of fresh underground water, a one-time well registration fee of 15 euros is paid to the VMI account by choosing the code of the municipality in whose territory the well is registered.
LGT legalizes boreholes free of charge. A company with a permit to explore the depths of the earth is paid only for the submission of documents. If you do not have any document (eg a plan), you will also need to pay the company to draw it up. LGT, having registered the borehole in the Land Register, issues the borehole passport to the company free of charge, and the company hands it over to the customer.
If the annual average amount of water extracted exceeds 10 cubic meters. meters per day or if the water, regardless of the amount extracted, is used in economic and commercial activities, a one-time well registration fee of 50-500 euros is paid to the VMI account. Its size depends on the extracted amount of water. Data is provided to LGT only by a company that has a permit to explore the depths of the earth. In such cases, the garden association must have a permit to use underground water resources, which is issued by the Lithuanian Geological Service.
And if you have installed an individual well in the garden community, you must take care of its legalization personally. In this case, the owner of the well himself submits the request to the municipality.
