Severe hangover of a businessman from Denmark: his morning entertainment in the center of Kaunas is priced solidly

--

Although the Danish citizen, whose rampage in the very center of Kaunas on Wednesday morning was recorded by the readers of the portal kauno.diena.lt, has already been released from police custody, he will have to open his wallet wide in order to get rid of the concoction he made.

After sobering up in Kaunas police custody, this 42-year-old Dane said he came to Kaunas on business. And the events that led to his forced acquaintance with the laws of Lithuania, as suspected, were the result of this guest sitting with friends and acquaintances in a bar on Laisvės aleja.

The suspect admitted to violating public order that he drank not only beer but also stronger alcohol there on Tuesday evening. And after that he doesn’t remember everything.

However, he did not deny his guilt. He only tended to share it with the amount of alcohol he drank.

As already written, the General Assistance Center was notified at 5:26 a.m. about the fact that a man in a clearly drunken state was behaving inappropriately at the intersection of Laisvės avenue and A. Mickevičius street – he was knocking over motorcycles and pots. And received more than one such call.

According to revised data, this was noticed by a passing cyclist, who noticed that this clearly intoxicated person was sitting on a motorcycle and trying to push it. After disciplining the man, it turned out that he does not understand Lithuanian. Then the same is repeated in English. However, the further he went, the more aggressively this person behaved – he overturned another motorcycle and started overturning flower pots as well.

Even three police crews rushed to the scene.

Although, as already written, the detained hooligan refused to blow into the alcohol meter for the officers, he was later found to be moderately drunk.

It was also established that the said two motorcycles damaged by him, when they were destroyed, were rented. They were rented by Germans staying in a hotel not too far away.

The owner of these motorcycles estimated the preliminary damage at 800 euros. And the Danish citizen, released from custody on a written promise not to leave, promised to compensate this damage as soon as possible.

After doing this, reconciliation with the victim is possible. In such a case, the pre-trial investigation started for a violation of public order, for which the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania provides for public service or a fine, or restriction of liberty, or arrest, or deprivation of liberty for up to two years, would be terminated.
