The first report about the elk standing on the street was received just after dawn on Thursday – around 6 a.m. 15 minutes It was reported that a decorative moose is standing in the middle of the roadway on Kęstučio St., at the intersection with S. Moniuska St.

Later, the police received another report regarding this incident.

When the officers arrived, they actually found a huge moose sculpture standing on the street, posing a traffic safety hazard.

This sculpture as a decorative detail has been decorating one of Kęstutis st. facility access. It is assumed that a group of possibly drunken “pranksters” passing by at night simply dragged the moose into the street and left it in the traffic lane leading to the city center.

Officials tried to call the moose’s owners, but to no avail – no one picked up the phone in the morning.

“The moose was moved from the road onto the sidewalk,” the police later informed, without elaborating on who dragged the sculpture off the street.

Afternoon lrytas.lt received video footage showing that three young men dragged the moose onto the street in the dark. The fourth guy was filming everything.

From the video material, it becomes clear that the moose sculpture is heavy. The three young men pushed her even when she was suffocating.

After pushing the moose onto the roadway, the “pranksters” ran to S. Moniuškas St. urging each other: “Let’s go!” Let’s run!”

The incident is under investigation.
