He was diagnosed with multiple body injuries in the reception department of Kaunas clinics.
It was later confirmed that the medics could no longer help the injured worker and the man died from his injuries.
According to the police, the driver of the lift was sober.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the violation of occupational safety and health protection requirements.
The accident happened in the premises belonging to Bordena UAB, and the deceased employee is a citizen of Belarus who had a temporary residence permit in Lithuania.
This was confirmed by the director of the company Žilvinas Tunaitis, who told tv3.lt journalists that the accident happened during production.
“We sincerely express our deepest condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased. We constantly maintain communication with family members. The company provides all kinds of assistance to the family of the deceased.
An internal investigation has been launched within the company. We are currently cooperating with law enforcement institutions and the State Labor Inspectorate”, asserts UAB Bordena director Žilvinas Tunaitis, adding that due to the pre-trial investigation, he cannot comment further on the situation.
