The Registry Center does not see any positive changes in real estate transactions

In four months, 30,900 real estate transactions were registered – 13.1% less than in 2023. January-April.

“Usually, as summer approaches, the real estate market picks up a bit, but this year we see that it is difficult to catch up with the results of previous years. No more significant positive changes can be seen in the sales of apartments, houses, or plots of land,” says Paulius Rudzkis, data analyst at the Register Center, in the report.

In April, 2,300 apartments were sold in the country – 8.3% less than in March and 17% less than last April. A total of 8,700 apartment transactions were registered this year, or 14.3% less than in the corresponding period last year.

In Vilnius, 714 apartments were sold in April – 16% less than in March (decrease compared to April 2023, – 24.5%), in Kaunas – 354 apartments, or 6.6% less (decrease – 17.3%), in Klaipėda – 200 apartments, or 5.7% less (decrease – 27.5%).

In total, 2,835, 1,292 and 741 apartment transactions were recorded in these cities this year, respectively, which is 20.1%, 13.3% and 15.4% less.

Sales of individual houses grew by 6.3% in April, decreasing by 2.1% year-on-year to 840. This year, a total of about 2,900 house transfer transactions were concluded, or 10% less.

Land transactions grew by 2.7% per month, decreased by 14.4% to 4,000 per year. in 2024 a total of 14,200 plots were transferred, or 15.5% less than last year.
