We say thank you to everyone who took the time to offer the walls of their homes, businesses or other buildings, as many as 18 structures in total. This year, we will manage to beautify five buildings, two of them meet us on our way to the Alytus mound (arrays of garages), Šaltinių st. 2 five-story building, Vilniaus st. The shop “Zalia stotelė” at 5 and the apartment building at Vilties st. 4., where the honorary citizen of the city of Alytus, photo artist Z. Bulgakovs lived.

Neo-frescoes for these buildings will be created by well-known, professional mural artists in Lithuania Pijus Čeikauskas, Artūras Šimonis, Pijus Šematulskis, Gabrielis Žvirblis-Gzparrow and Ukrainian Hudo Anton.
The expanding street gallery will add more colors and visual accents to the face of the city, and will acquaint the townspeople and city guests with the history of the city. After all, home is not only a physical place, but also the foundation of identity that allows us to navigate the world.

Historians are currently collecting archival material, analyzing collected historical situations, creating texts, and preparing for May 25 and June 8. for the opening of the street gallery exhibition “Namai suARTina”. So we invite you to mark the nearest date:

All wall painting works in Alytus will be marked with QR codes and a route-map will be created, allowing you to get to know the city from different angles, reflecting the living history of Alytus, architecture, culture, historical figures, street art. An audio guide will be created for the presentation of each object – attractive texts voiced by actors, presenting their story, conveying it vividly and interestingly.
The project is organized by the Alytus City Theater and the Alytus City Municipality, partly financed by the Lithuanian Culture Council, sponsored by UAB “Ramirent” and UAB “Daugesta”.
